“Reelin’ In” is for a GREAT CAUSE!!!

Who could not look at this picture and SMILE and want to give her the biggest hug in the world??? If you do not know who this precious little girl is, she is Sadye Webb and she is 3 years old. Her parents are Corey and Regan Webb. She was diagnosed last fall with cancer, a Wilms Tumor. Well, maybe you cannot give her that big hug and show her a smile right now BUT you can give her and many more kids, moms and dads, sisters and brother, grandparents and aunts and uncles and soooo many friends something to smile about and that is YOUR SUPPORT. The Webb’s are asking that you help them in giving so many children a second chance at living a life of fun filled days and a cure from being a sick little child. So here is your chance.
Most of you have probably heard by now- either by word of mouth, seeing flyer’s around town or visiting Sadye Webb’s Caringbridge site. BUT even though many of you know about Reelin’ In a Cure- Have you actually taken the next step and completed an application to participate in the Fishing Tournament? If you are not a fisherman like myself (even though I have been recruiting fishermen that I know), you still have an opportunity to be a part of this great event. You could still purchase a T-shirt or just give a donation. ALL OF THE PROCEEDS THAT ARE RAISED FROM THIS EVENT GO TO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN BIRMINGHAM!! Did you hear me? ALL PROCEEDS. Click here to order your t-shirt (just tell Regan and Cory the size and name and they will get back with you on rest) and let me tell you they are SOOOOO Cute!!! How great would it be if when Sadye and her family went anywhere- and they saw someone wearing their “Reelin’ a Cure” t-shirt? You know it would have to put a smile on their face and a warm feeling in their heart. Especially Sadye to know so many people care about her and they supported this event in honor of her…… These shirts start in Youth Mediums and go up to Adult sizes.
Cory and Regan have worked extremely hard on this event because they want so badly to give just a small token of appreciation back to Children’s Hospital, the Doctors and Staff for giving them their Sadye a second chance at life. If you have not read Sadye’s Caringbridge Site, click here to see what all the Webb Family went through last fall, and you can read for yourself how their courage, strength, prayers and most importantly their faith in God got them through each hour and each day of while their Sadye was in the hospital, taking treatments and it continues today. It will definitely make you stop and thank God for each day that he gives us and for our health. We never know when we may be walking in the same shoes that the Webb’s and so many other people in Scottsboro and Jackson County have had to walk in…… They are one very inspiring family to me and I believe each that know them could agree with me on that. They could have so easily just said their “Thank You” to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff BUT they they did not stop there. They decided to go a little further and have came up with a way to SHOW their appreciation and for that, I commend them for their work in the thought process, planning, organizing and I know that their dedication will be paid off with a SUCCESSFUL EVENT!!! The very least that we all can do is support them in one of several ways: participate in the tournament, purchase a t-shirt or give a donation that will go to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. If you want to give a donation, click here and let them know and they will get back with you on the details.
Regan has said that they are having a great response to the event and is so grateful for every one’s support but I KNOW Scottsboro and Jackson County people and we all can make it an even BIGGER RESPONSE and SUCCESSFUL EVENT by each of us supporting them. So know, this post is not from Corey or Regan but this is from me because I feel that is an IMPORTANT EVENT and is one that we should all be a part of in any way that we possibly can at this time. Spread the word also, remember what I said when I introduced you to Penny’s Purse- small coins can add up to lots of money just as one person can end up being hundreds of people.
I will be giving an update on Reelin’ in a Cure in the next couple of weeks so make sure you check the “Local Events” category on the right side of my home page.
Until next time-
