FULL May WeekendPosted by penny
There is no way that anyone living in Scottsboro and Jackson County could say that there is nothing to do this weekend…. Between helping the Tornado Victims in the surrounding areas with clean up and recovery AND supporting the MANY fundraisers that are going on throughout the weekend- it is going to be a busy time for many people.
Turning Point Pregnancy Center will be hosting their Inspire Life 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, May 14th at Goosepond Amphitheater. You may register online at www.turningpointscottsboro.com ($20 pre-registration) and then you can also register the day of race ($25).

Residents and staff at Cloverdale Manor will enjoy fun and games this week as part of National Nursing Home Week.
The week long celebration began on Monday May 9th and will run through May 13th. This years theme of NNHW is “Country Living”. It allows both residents and staff a little more fun, and entertainment for the residents.
Cloverdale kicked off National Nursing Home Week Monday with Clown Day and Bingo, and a Watermelon Social in the Courtyard.
Tuesday was designated Ol’Timey Day, encouraging old timey hats, bonnets, and aprons. Activities for the day were good ole music with The Holcomb’s and dancing with the Restorative department followed by snacks.
On Wednesday the facility will be having Blue Grass Day as they dress in their Sunday best, have Bluegrass Singing with Billy and the Fragments, and a Resident Cook Out in the Courtyard.
Thursday is Animal Day! It will be casual blue jeans and t-shirts as Cloverdale’s Residents enjoy Animal Day in the Courtyard with various activities. Thursday afternoon the residents will have bowling with the Restorative Department then enjoy music by Southern Faith.
As National Nursing Home Week winds up at Cloverdale Manor, the EPCOT students will join us as we celebrate Prom Day, with several activities throughout the day including a cookout for the staff.

I love these picture frames at The Grapevine. The one that says, “Family” is my very favorite and what a great gift this would be…. Picture frames have always been a gift that I love to give because I always feel that they will be enjoyed and put to good use by everyone. Cannot go wrong with these when giving them as a Wedding Gift either.
Mr. Rooter Plumbing is always making sure that they provide the best quality service possible. They offer services in Plumbing Contractors. They specialize in so many things but some of the ones that I was not really aware of until lately were; Water Pressure Problems, Washers & Dryers, Washers, Mildew, Mold, Water Damage, Odors, Stoppages, Dish Washers, Rusty Water, Code Violations, No Hot Water, Flooding and Tree Roots. Those are some problems that we all have probably experienced or will in the future- just remember there is no reason to get stressed because Stacy Ledwell and his crew at Mr. Rooter Plumbing will be there to take care of you.
Don’t forget that Mr. Rooter is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and there is not extra charge for those weekends and night calls. The price for their service is ALWAYS the same!!!
They also accept the following forms of payment: VISA, MasterCard.
Greta at The Toad Stool has got in some great clothes for adults (I hate calling them ‘big girls’) and this dress is so much cuter in person. She has clothes for all ages and all styles. The prices are great and you will not regret taking some time to go in the shop and see all that is on the racks.
I am so excited to tell you that The Toad Stool has kids Under Armour clothes. These are some cute shirts and shorts for the girls BUT the boys do not have to worry…..She has them covered too with UA shorts and shirts. Greta knows what the boys like since she has two young ones of her own so you (and your kids) will want to see what Under Armour clothes they want from here.
You know by now that I feel that they are your only choice when it comes to getting an MRI. Why would you not go there? You never have to leave Scottsboro. You can get an appointment without waiting for weeks (which is not good-especially if you are in pain). You have people who live right here in Scottsboro and Jackson County and know how important it is for your visit to be as easy and comfortable as possible (they want for you what they would want for themselves and their own family). Then you have the best Radiologists (Dr. Reichle and Dr. Green) and techs who are taking care of your scan and reading them efficiently. I cannot forget about the caring and helpful staff at Open MRI either- you really have NO reason to not go here.
Then of course- there are NO tunnels that you have to be put in. You can relax and have no need to worry about being claustrophobic.
The Scottsboro Swim Association (SSA) are underway and if you have kids or know any kids who enjoy swimming and spending time in the water….I highly suggest you mark your calendars tomorrow, Friday, May 13th. All prospective new swimmers are invited to the RecCom Pool for a Pool Party/Cookout on this day. There will be a video presentation and Question/Answer session at 5:30 p.m.. Then following this, there will hot dogs (grilled by Matt Miller of “Thats My Dog”) and then some fun in the pool until 8:00 p.m.
Until next week…..Have a great weekend!
